How's it going? My name is Lindsey, and my SO is at Piedmont, just started actually flying the jet today. I'm actually also a former Army Aviator but medically grounded so can't fly for the foreseeable future. I'm planning to go back to school, get another degree, and help run RTAG. Please let me know if you have any questions, concerns, thoughts, etc about this whole airline thing! That's what this forum is created for - for us to have these discussions.
I don't have any kids so I can't comment on that stuff, but I will say that I have never seen Austin happier than he's been at the airline - not that it's a perfect job by any stretch of the imagination, at this stage, but a lot of the stresses that existed in the Army simply are not there anymore. We used to be stationed on opposite ends of the country and now live together "in-base" (near where he flies out of), which means we don't have to worry about the whole commuting thing either. Life is simple! And so much more flexible.
No question is stupid! Let me know if there an "airline-ism" like an acronym or term you aren't familiar with. If your SO has been at an airline for awhile, what tips do you have to pass on? Any thoughts on what you would have changed looking back? If you're on the fence about making the jump, what are your concerns? Let's talk!
