If I were to equate my path to RTP to a checkride, I would say that I'm up to APU Start....on the first day of flying your A/C down at Rucker. You know, that point where you "kinda" know what needs to happen but your nervous as all get out?

I have zero FW anything, but know beyond a shadow of a doubt that this is what I want to pursue. I'm a NG 47 driver (with just over 500 total hours) during my Army life and drive a desk the rest of the time. I'm done with the desk and I've become slightly disenchanted with the Guard due to geographic distance between civ job and Army job, but that's also in part to a supervisor not being a large fan of the guard.

Anyway, I've made my profile on and applied to multiple airlines. I have to use my post 9/11 GI Bill due to funding issues, but am constantly reading up on every regional company and their benefits.

If any of you could start over again, what would you do? Would/How would you do it different?

Just looking for some solid advice as I continue to push forward.
